I think Botox is a really good option for wrinkle reduction because it’s simple. It’s a lunchtime procedure. You can easily do it and go right back to your normal daily activities. Whether that’s work or you know if you’re going out to dinner and no one would really know and the results are very consistent and reliable. So, for any. Wrinkles around their face, whether they’re the happy feet around the eye area or on the forehead, or between the eyebrow, which is a very simple procedure, I think the most important thing is that you want to make sure that you. Go to somebody who is very experienced. Ideally have it injected by a physician who injects a lot of Botox and understands the facial anatomy and really focuses on trying to keep you looking like you. We don’t want to change the way that you look. That’s important to me. We want you to look very natural and. Like I know, prefer to have all my patients feel is you know everyone will notice, but no one will know that you had the procedure done.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

At Thrive Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Center, we use Botox® to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, frown lines, and creases on the neck and forehead.

This particular filler works by blocking the nerve impulses that come from the brain to help relax the face and muscles and soften the appearance of the skin. Patients from surrounding communities, including Milwaukie and Clackamas, find that with Botox®, they can improve pronounced lines and wrinkles for several months.

BOTOX® can also be used to treat migraine headaches and TMJ disorder, as well as jaw clenching. This neuromodulator has also become a viable treatment for hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating in areas such as the underarms, hands, and feet.

Dr. Maddox has been administering Botox® since 2004 and is dedicated to providing natural-looking, beautiful results!

“Very friendly professional service. They took the time to discuss what my objective was & create a treatment just for me. Definitely will go back!” – Michele 8/28/2012

Restylane®

As our bodies begin to age, they naturally reduce their production of hyaluronic acid versus our younger years. This decrease can result in volume loss and shrinkage of the skin, which can cause fine lines and wrinkles. One of the most highly desired wrinkle fillers called, Restylane® is readily available for patients in our practice. This gel helps restore hyaluronic acid to the skin to add fullness and volume while correcting moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles. This injectable is best used around the nasolabial folds around the lips and nose. We carry all versions of Restylane, including Restylane Silk, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Kysse, Restylane Contour, and Restylane Versa.

Juvéderm®

Juvederm is similar to Restylane® in that it is a hyaluronic acid gel filler for lines around the nose and mouth. Dr. Maddox typically uses Juvederm® for lip enhancement and augmentation, marionette lines, parentheses lines, and other moderate to severe folds and wrinkles on the face.

Lip Enhancement

When lips lose their fullness with time, they can be restored with a myriad of fillers and injectables available through our office. Dr. Maddox can use a premier treatment such as Juvederm®, Restylane®, or Botox® to improve fine lines, wrinkles, and fullness of the lips for better augmentation.

“A real doctor does the injections here, best I have ever had anywhere. In one week my face looked wrinkle free and rested (for only a little over $200!) Staff is very friendly and helpful and have had procedures done themselves, so eager to share info and explain. Prices are comparable or less than I have seen elsewhere. I’ve found my new spa to pamper myself, will start laser hair removal soon”. – Julie 11/2/2012

Botox & Dermal Fillers – Before and After Results

Frequently Asked Questions

Dermal fillers are injectable cosmetic treatments that are designed to restore lost volume, boost the plumpness of certain areas of your face, and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Yes! The dermal fillers that we use at Thrive have been used for many years across the globe with excellent safety records, and are approved by the U.S. FDA. Many of the dermal fillers that we offer are comprised primarily of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that naturally occurs in the body so there is little chance for negative reactions. Your body is also able to easily absorb hyaluronic acid over time.

At Thrive, we offer several different types of fillers to cover a wide variety of cosmetic concerns, and patients often wonder what the best fillers for the face are. Some fillers are better suited for one area of the face than others, and different filler materials can have longer-lasting results than others.

  • Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid-based filler and is great for moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the lips, nose, and nasolabial folds
  • Juvéderm® XC is another popular hyaluronic acid filler that is a good option for patients with wrinkles around the mouth or nose, such as parentheses lines, marionette lines, and other moderate to severe wrinkles; it is also used for lip enhancement and augmentation
  • Radiesse® is a versatile filler made from calcium hydroxyapatite that can be used in several areas of the face, such as around the jaw and jowls and to reduce wrinkles such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds
  • Juvéderm Voluma™ XC is a hyaluronic acid filler that instantly boosts lost volume in cheeks that have become flattened due to aging

Yes – hyaluronic acid fillers stimulate collagen production in your skin to boost its thickness and youthful appearance. They do this by stretching the fibroblasts in your skin, which are what produce collagen.

Dermal fillers are minimally invasive and require little to no downtime. You can return right away to home or work after your treatment, and if you experience any redness or bruising, you can use makeup to cover it. It is best to avoid extreme cold or heat and avoid sun exposure for about two weeks after your treatment, and strenuous activities should be avoided for 24 hours.

Thanks to advances in dermal filler technologies and methods, there are typically few side effects from the injections. When they occur, they are typically mild and may include:

  • Redness or swelling at the injection sites
  • Bruising, which is usually diminished with the use of a blunt needle
  • Lumpiness – this is rare and can typically be smoothed out with massaging
  • Infection at the injection site, though we take all precautions possible and use sterile needles to help avoid this issue

We will discuss all possible side effects with you, as well as ways to potentially avoid or minimize any negative effects.

As soon as we perform the injections, you will see results! The effect will gradually increase over the next two to four weeks as the filler material binds to water and adds volume to the treatment area.

One of the great things about fillers is that they last a long time. Many patients can go between nine months and two years between treatments. The amount of time your filler will last depends on a variety of factors, such as:

  • The location on your face – fillers in areas that you move a lot, such as around your lips, will fade sooner than less frequently used areas such as your cheeks or forehead
  • How deep the wrinkles are
  • The specific type of filler that was used

We discuss how long your individual results should last, as well as the injectable fillers cost, in advance so you know what to expect before your treatment even begins.
